Reasons Why I Hate WoW

Its no secret – I’m am a huge fan of Hack n Slash, Action MMO(RPG)s with real life physics and great graphics.  I do 100% consider myself spoiled by the games that have entertained me over the years. WoW is not one of them.  And while hate might be a really strong provocative word – I don’t like it and don’t subscribe to the gushy feeling of amazement that overwhelms its players.

I have never liked WoW.  My experience with the game is 100% similar to every other game that I don’t like which goes a little something like this…

  • Preview – look at it on videos or hear about it from someone else.
  • Install – Check out the website and look through the forums while the game is downloading
  • Play – Depending on the game this lasts from 5 – 30 minutes.
  • Uninstall – First impressions matter. If I’m not intrigued at this point, the game is uninstalled and I move on to the next one.

While I am sure at least one of you is going to say, “but but you don’t even get to the good part until you turn level 100.”  THATS THE POINT!  This is a huge turn off to me. Its like a meeting a cute guy, if you captured my attention but if your brainwaves don’t stimulate some activity then then you don’t deserve to know me.  If all a MMO offers its pretty face but doesn’t get me involved, I’m not wasting my time and money continuing the relationship.  I willing accept the probability that I won’t get to see what makes it amazing and that is perfectly fine with me.

WoW though, there are extra special reasons why I don’t like it…
